xero, yours specs are spot on and i totally agree with you on ditching the cd drive. You are also right about the overpriced products in india. Dell is selling xps 13 for 800$ for the nontouch i5 version in usa but for the same model they are 1200$ in india.
But i have my apprehension about the 7th gen i5 and i7 and the nvidia gtx 1060. Don't get me wrong, I am a huge supporter of dedicated graphics card but most people just don't need it unless you are going to use your laptop for running very graphics extensive games the chances are that you will be very happy with even 5th gen i7/8gb ram/iris 6000 or nvidia 950mx if it is configured properly and have a proper ssd. Anyway the 7th gen are using the same architecture as the 6th gen processors,so don't expect any dramitic change in power usage or CPU performance. Software on a device is very important too. If you have a well specced laptop and a poor OS then your experience will be hampered. Macbook are able to perform better than a superior specced Windows laptop. i myself ran windows on my 5 year old notebook and the experience was horrible. I wasn't able to run a single tab on chrome properly and was going to give up on laptop but then i thought about installing linux on it. After running a few script and customization i am able to use almost 15+ tabs at a time and even run some games from steam.
So smartron instead of just focusing on hardware side also focus on the software side. this is the Achilles's heel for many Asian manufacturers including smartron. Hope that you have learnt well from your past mistakes
The ssd ,oled or ips screen, good keyboard and touchpad(try getting thinkpad class keyboards), awesome build quality and bigger batteries goes without saying.also try to incorporate lte technology in the notebook itself as people don't want to buy a extra modem. Bio metric sensors like fingerprint sensor will be welcome additions too.
